Default 8.8 is installed, but...

Now my drivers side rear brake is smoking hot. The e brake doesn't seem to be frozen, it goes on and off easily. Can't figure what happened. Any ideas?

Nevermind...it seems after jerking the brake on and off it's happy again. Whew...i thought I was really gonna hate the 3.73's...as soon as I let off the gas it went from 25 to 10 in a couple seconds.

Were your brakes just getting use to the new placement?

Jerking off the brake fixed it?
Seems the problem lies deeper and you should have it looked at.

Not sure the placement had anything to do with it, my guess is the e brake hung up or the piston stuck. I pulled the wheel off and let it cool down for a bit. Pulled the caliper off, didn't see any problem. Double checked all the bolts, no problem there. No kinks in the cable. Worked the brake lever back n forth, nothing seemed to change. Threw the wheel back on and went for a quick 4 mile ride, all was well. Drove to the train today and no issues as well.

The
excessive
heat generated
had to get to the
caliper seals
and bust
boot.
