Alright, so after many hours of painstaking thoughts and running figures, I have decided that now is not the time to go FI as I would have liked to. But now that FI is pretty much out of the question, I don't know where to go from where I'm at.
The car is an 06 Pony Package Automatic with a C&L CAI, a 93 Bama Torque Tune, and a MRT MaxThunder Axleback.
My Mustang is also my daily driver, so fuel economy and drivablilty has some importance to me.
I would like to keep the appearance of the car stock, so visual upgrades are out of the question.
I am looking to spend under $600. All suggestions and ideas are welcome. Thanks!

We have pretty close to the same setup aside from exhaust. I know the 3.73s will give the car a nice kick in acceleration, but how much would you say it helped? How did they affect your cruising RPMs and your gas mileage? Did you do the 8.8 swap on your own? Thanks.

To LethalDosage and AMoRT:
I was planning on using the 8.8 if i went that route so I wouldn't have to deal with bad shimming on the gears and also so that I could do the install myself in my friend's shop. I figured with the car up in the air and all the air tools it shouldn't take longer than a full Sunday's work.
To Rygen:
I'm kinda stuck between two extremes for FI. On the one hand I really like the X charger, have heard wonderful things about it, and know that I can definitely do the install on my own. On the other hand, I like the power and unique benefits of a turbo. Either way this wouldn't really be a track car.

I see where your coming from...and an 8.8 is so much easier to work with than changing gears.
Just as long as you have a hoist lift and a transmission jack you should be good for an easy install oh and make sure to line up the Driveshaft before you pull it all apart

Go with the driveshaft for $500 or the rear for $900. I did the DS first a month or so back and it is noticeable. Still breaking the gears in, but even taking it easy I can feel a big difference, probably double what the DS did. I do plan on FI, but that's likely late next summer at the earliest. Even if I don't go FI the 1400 was still worth it IMO.
