Default Info setup reset Button

Well Like put in another post, I poped open the blank cover on my center console where the controls of the dash message center screen is and it had the the extra wiring cable. So I went on ebay and bought the info, setup, reset buttons. Only for $10.00. I won't be able to get the new speedometer cluster till Jan due to financial problems. I decided to test the new buttons and they light up. My question is can I leave it plugged in with out having the new speedometer or will leaving it confuse the cars computer and make my car have electrical issues or other problems.

This is off the topic (sorry) but how much does the new speedo cluster cost (if you can PM me I would appreciate it!)

I was thinking about getting that done too but I've never looked into it... and the buttons seem pretty cheap... I'm guessing the new speedo cluster will cost a couple hundred though

Since it is a display option only, there is nothing you could mess up. You should be fine.

I second that.

Can anyone tell me how much the other console costs? I would think hundreds because you'd have to have someone change your odometer etc.
