PE@CE!! lol

Seriously,
A lot of the S197 drift cars burn around the track in 19 in rims. There are also a good number that did phenomenal 1/4 mile times in 20s. Compared to 18s, yes performance may be affected. But along with size, weight is just as much a factor for after market wheels when it comes to performance. For me it's a balancing act between performance and looks. Also remember, low profile tires mean better cornering.

By the way, to the person that posted that classic blue mustang as an example for MEAT? What meat?! lol those are skinny looking dude.

Let me help you out with a slightly better example of meaty tires on a classic lookin car:

Take care all...

Here is my .02

20's look great, and they are better for the cornering factor. However, they are harder to launch with, and do slow the car down. Here is why:

Rotating Mass. Weight is not so much of a factor. It's the size of the tire. By going with a big tire like that, it is cutting the gear ratio down. Taller tires = lower gears.

I noticed a big difference in my GT when I switch between winter/summer. 20's for the summer, and my 18's in the winter. The car is WAY faster and pulls so much harder. I'm sure the air is a good factor with the increase in speed, but less rotating mass helps as well. Just my .02

Yes rotational mass is a big factor, very good point. But weight can just as much a factor as it relates to said rotational mass. Less weight, less work as far as hauling goes. It's simple common sense. I totally agree with 18 being quicker than 20s.

Thanks for the compliment SaddleUp

Good point. My 20's are Aluminum and weigh about 28lbs. without tires. With tires, Each set is about 50lbs. Sure, lighter weight rims are a factor in a 20inch. However, taller tire, smaller gear ratio.

the reason why put lower profile tires on 20s is so the overall diameter of the tire and wheel do not change much. with 16s or 17s you probably have a 45 while on 20s u have a 35 or 30.

So I have been doing tons of searching and havent found anything that jumped out at me. Show me some 19's that would look good on a Satin Silver.

I will probably end up back at 18" DD bullitts. I can never make a decision.

I got the V6 because of concerns for insurance & fuel costs. Hindsight is 20/20 and if I had it to do over.. I'd buy a GT! Since I'm going to have to live with the V6 for a year or two.. I'm trying to ENJOY it! You don't mind too much I hope? LOL!

When Antipeterleaque posts photo of his COMPLETE performance car with all his extreme MODS...........geeeezzzzz!!!!
