Try reading the owners manual.
Its layed out as how to modify the locking options in there.
Does it chirp with two presses of the lock button within two
seconds?

I have been through the owner's manual a few times but couldn't find anything about modifying the locking options to get the car back the way it was before. It just seemed to say if it chirped twice, then a door or trunk/hood was not shut, which isn't the case.

If I press the lock button on the fob once, the doors lock. If I press it again within two seconds, the horn chirps two or three times and no lights flash.

When I first got the car in the summer, the blinkers (front and back) would flash on the second press and I assumed it had armed an alarm or something. It stopped doing this after the dealership gave it back following some warranty work. I also had to reprogram the remote entry transmitter, as described in the owner's manual, as that also didn't work after I got the car back.

Which page in the owner's manual are these directions about locking options listed?

Thanks.

The Stealership seems to have changed the SJB?
Something happened to cause your remote to stop working.
It seems the lock options are back to factory default??
It should be under the Factory anti-theft alarm system.
I dont have my manual handy and cant find a working
S197 owners manual link online.
I have the printed 05, 06, 07 and 08 manuals at home
but not with me right now to look it up.
As far as the locking goes - the car would lock
correctly when I first got it. I would press the remote
key fob once to lock and twice would chirp the horn
and flash the blinkers.
My 07 without factory alarm locks and flashes the
blinkers on the first press and flashes and chirps once
on the second press within 3 seconds just to audiably
confirm locking as you are walking away from the stang
in the mall parking lot. Yours didnt flash the blinkers
with the first press as indicated above?

It starts on page 63.
If you are having problems arming your Anti-Theft system, it could be something wrong with the remote transmitters.....that would have to be looked at by a Ford technician.

Thanks.

It seems that you have a bad door or hood sensor not showing it as shut.

Yes, I think that is probably it - everything else in the settings seems to be ok and I can turn on/off the other configurable settings.

Guess I will wait until it needs to go back to the dealer for something and then have it looked at.

Thanks for all the help guys!
