Default Ford racing package v6

I am looking at getting the ford racing performance package for the v6. M-2007-fr1v6. I have seen it for 980-1040$. Does anyone know who would give the best deal. Uncle Sam is going to pay for it.

That kit is basically a good exhaust system and an FRPP CAI with a crappy tune for 1 grand(can't forget the performance oil filter...).

You're better off buying that exhaust and a CAI/Tune combo from Bama/Brenspeed.

I agree with the above posts. Its not a bad kit. It comes with some nice parts, but you are better off buying an exhaust system of your choice and then buying a cai and tune from one of the tuning shops (Bamachips, Brenspeed, VMP, Alternative Auto). That price isn't all that high for the FRPP kit, but you will get a better tune from one of the shops I listed.

+1 to the above posts

Just buy the CAI+Tune + whatever else you want. Kits sometimes tend to give you worthless stuff you dont know.

And that's why I love this forum. I have heard nothing but good things about the exhaust. But I am open for suggestions on a cai. I also have looked at the roush cai. Any other makers I should look at.

JLT or C&L combined with a Xcal 3 tuner. Check the packages at

www.bamachips.com and
www.brenspeed.com

The FFRP V6 exhaust is a very good system and I recommend it highly. You can't go wrong buying one. I just wish that Ford would let you buy there V6 cai WITHOUT the tuner. Looks like a nice setup. Get a cai/tuner package from one of the top tuners and you will get 3 much better tunes with a more versatile tuner(mainly adjustability). VMP and bama come to mind & both sell good products. VMP has a V6 cai/tuner package for $449.00, great price.

+1. Get some other custom cai/tune and axle-back muffler (s) of your choice, and you'll save money and have a better setup.

Most common/popular setup is the C&L and Xcal3 combo from bamachips, Here

I'm installing my JLT Cai + Xcal3 tuner with Doug's 91 race tune tomorrow, so I will let you know the results on that as well.

Just what ever you do, don't get that package. Waste of money, less performance. The roush "CAI" is also just a diff air filter that uses the OEM V6 tubing, they claim thats the only part that makes a difference.
