20's on a V6
#21
If you are into ET's, or 0-60 performance, there is a difference going to a 20 in tire from say a 16, 17 or even 18. Plus they are heavier, additional rotational mass. There is a performance impact going to 20's. Definitely a show mod.

I don't care about 0-60 times, but when I put the pedal to the metal, I don't want to feel like it's struggling because it's taking so much energy to rotate the 20's.
After reading about how many improvements they've made to the new 2010's, now I don't know if I just want to wait a couple years and get one of those instead of putting money into my 06 V6. I'm struggling, though, because my V6 is my first car and I thought I'd always keep it.

Rim size does not mean as much as tires size does if you are trying to fill in the wheel wells. I haev seen 18"s that look great and terrible because of poor choice on tires sizes, just like I have seen 20"s look great and terrible due to poor choice on tire sizes.
I think my 18"s look great, and I get a good amount of compliments on them also. Just be mindful when choosing your rim and tire size and put a good set of springs on your car and everything will fall into place.

But what size may those great lookin 18s be so
all of us that want em can get em like you have.
I have 255/45-18s and they dont fill ouyt the wheel well like your
(size ??) tires do.

I saw a black 6 with 20's on it just yesterday. Personally i think it looks real bad. Granted it was not lowered or have a kit on it. Just looked like a hotwheels car to me. Imo 18's are the way to go.

I think 20's on a vehicle with stock V-6 brakes looks foolish (I have seen it). With the big gaps between the wheel rims and the brakes, it looks like you put bicycle tires on your car. With GT takeoffs or larger aftermarket brakes, it can be a nice looking mod. They will impact your ride quality, however.
