yeah, I see your point. The math doesn't really add up. The 8.8" sounds like the way to go. Thanks for the help!

Its pretty easy to install the 8.8 takeoff yourself. I did it myself with 2 jackstands, a floorjack and an air wrench. Here on Long Island I was quoted prices as high as $600.00 for gear installation and that made it a no brainer to buy & install the 8.8 takeoff. The 8.8 is slightly higher in weight but much stronger. You are not going to blow the 8.8 with the V6 and I have heard of the 7.5s being blown on N/A V6s. And the 8.8 takeoff is just as quiet as the stock 7.5 rear. I had heard way too many "whine stories" from botched installs on the 7.5 and didn't need the BS.
