Default new to the 4.0 game

hello yall! received a 2007 v6 mustang from the wife's side of the family as a wedding gift a few months ago. it's a nice car but i wanted to give it some extra kick! obviously without her knowing or she would ring my neck.
I never owned a mustang before, but i have been loyal to ford since a kid so i'm not too far off. I grew up with a lot of thunderbirds but not the 5.0 kind.

What is your budget?

Do you want the kick in noise, in horsepower, in handling, appearance? What are you looking for?

Most guys on here go with a cold air intake (CAI) and tune to wake up the engine. A few have done extra steps in installing an X-Charger to make the car faster than a stock GT.
Many of us opted to install duals for sound and appearance. As you can see, the options are limitless but you need a wallet that never runs dry.

Welcome to the forums!

It's both of ours, but technically it's her car so I want to do mods that won't increase suspicion, but when I drive it, there is extra HP/TQ on tap. I was thinking a CAI because she won't drive it to hard to hear it I'm thinking. I want to do some visual mods too, but not any that will attract races. With a Mustang there are so many choices, it's driving me nuts.

Thats the best part of owning a mustang! CAI/tune is pretty inconspicuous, and easy to install. Gt takeoff exhuast sounds great and is cheap ($30-80) and plenty of cool visual mods. stripes, louvers, etc. check out americanmuscle.com and mossmustang.com to get ideas

Front and rear GT take-off sway bars will make her turn 100% better.

Is your new wife against upgrades? Not to sound to much like DR Phil, but, In the 15 years I have been married I have found, if you have a secret she will FIND OUT!!! And she wont be happy and if the wife aint happy aint nobody happy. Mods aint worth your new marriage.
