Default The infamous WATER LEAK

Fellow Mustang owners lend me your ears. Five days ago it rained like hell and my 2007 mustang pp convertible was sitting outside of it's garage. Next day was cleaing the inside of my car and the passenger side had some water. As you can imagine I was pissed. I then dried it up took out the cover near the passenger seat and took out the carpet to check the floor board for rust no rust at all. Then I went online and investigated the forums. Found two causes from other threads. One was the top part of the a pillar where water goes in the plastic trim and goes down the door to the floor board. Then there was the second with the grommet located under the cabin air filter. Well I tried pouring water down the plastic trim of the A Pillar and there was no leak. Hopefully it was because it was a convertible. Then I checked the grommet and it wasn't clogged. So I was puzzled. Then I saw something that caught my attention. Right were the grommet drains out theres a hole in the metal. I have some pics of everything. Could that be the problem. Does that hole lead to the inside of my car. If so How can I cover it? and If not what else can I do?
Thanks everyone.

I don't have the drop top, but I have had some water leaking, where the window meets the rubber across the top. I'm not sure if it's the same with converts but when you close or open the door the window moves up or down, maybe once every 3 or 4 months whatever mechanism makes that work will stop working for a few days. I made the mistake of closing the door when this was happening and washed my car lol i then proceeded to realize my interior was kind of wet. you may want to check and see if you can get your windows to close another quarter inch when the doors are closed with the up/down buttons if one of the windows goes up another quarter inch, that might be the issue. good luck man

Don't waste your money taking it to the dealership. I had the exact same problem a few months back and realized the leak was coming from the cabin filter. There is this rubber piece that gets clogged with debris, that should filter the water that drains off from the windshield area. Once I cleaned it out, I no longer had any problems with water getting into the car. (and we all know how much water it is.... I thought I had an expensive mess on my hands but it only cost me about 20 min of labor and it cost me nothing.
