Default Running into issues (gear related of course)

So I finally had my gears installed this Wednesday, and so far it has turned out to be a mess. I had the installation done by Ford, which I do not regret, because the mechanic working on my car is awesome; real classy guy. He has lots of experience with Ford rear ends and really wants me to leave satisfied.

So I dropped my car off Wed morn, and called back Wed afternoon. They told me the mechanic installed the gears but had alot of whining so he was going to do it over again. I came back today and met with him, and he said that all these years of flawless installs, he has never had this much trouble with a rear end. He showed me all the alignments, and they were spot on. He believes it is the gears, which, you guessed it, are MOTIVES. He is going to reinstall them yet one more time, but he said after that I should look into getting a different brand of gears, and he will install them on the side for alot less.

Point of the story: I'm in a pickle because of my own arrogance and now I'm going to have to pay more money to fix it. Ah well... live and learn.

ARRRGGHHH we loose another to motive! Noooooo! Only thing that might work, try drowning them in friction modifier lol. So the savings of ~$20 on the motives over FRPP wasn't worth it...hmmm

Again with the noisy Motive gears posts.

Be aware that some FRPP package gear sets are really Motive gears.

UPDATE:

I got my car back today, and there is NO whine. It's amazing, and I didn't get a chance to talk to the mechanic to see how he fixed the issue, but what a boss.

However, the morons at Ford updated my ECU for the gear ratio when I told them I had a tune on there. So when I tried to reinstall my Bama tune it would not let me. How do I resolve this issue? Also, I have the C&L intake installed; how unsafe is it to drive around with it on the stock tune, because I had to drive it home that way and I know Ford test drove it around as well.

Thanks for the support.

I've got FRPP 3.73's made by Motive. Been in for 20K with zero issues

Well since your stock tune is on your tuner and the
stang now has a dealer modified tune, the tuner will
have to be unlocked as it does not recognise you
stang as the one its locked to.
Did they update the ECU gear ratio only or load
the OEM as built data for a stang like your but
with the new gear ratio you now have?
I would not let the stealership anywhere near
your stang if it has a tune in it as this is a common
occurance here on the forum.

Last update guys:

I contacted SCT and they were very supportive. They helped me unlock my X3 and I didn't have to send it in. So overall this mod had a few bumps along the path, but everything has turned out great and I'm very satisfied.

So, on to the next mod hah. Gaahh it doesn't stop!
