Do you have a tune with your CAI? Maybe something is off there, so try reloading it.

It is an Airaid CAI. It shouldn't need a tune. When I get some money I want to go with a C&L or JLT CAI and tune.

Try putting your stock air filter back on and see if it makes a difference.

Even though it says no tune is required, and with everything else that you've checked, it leads back to something not right then with the airaid CAI change.

I've put 75,000 miles on a set of plugs that still looked great, and then put 30,000 on a set after running several nitrous passes and they were still in great shape so I'd be surprised if it is a spark plug problem.

You said you already changed the fuel filter and that didn't fix it so you are getting fuel flow it sounds like.

Try cleaning your throttle body, you'd be amazed at what a difference a clean TB makes. I live in a dusty environment and keep it as clean as I can. Clean the MAF sensor also, thats an easy one. 2 torx bits holding it right at the beginning of the hose after the stock airbox, and blast it w/ MAF cleaner.

Ok guys, here is the latest update. I think I got the problem solved. I took your advice and checked the spark plugs. I found something interesting when I pulled them out. I had 2 different kinds in the car. On cylinders 1 to 3, I found Motorcraft Platinum 24PGM plugs. On cylinders 4 to 6 I found Motorcraft Platinum 24PM plugs. The 24PGM plugs had a flat electrode tip while the 24PM had a rounded electrode tip. Go figure. Since they were out and they were different I decided to just replace them. I put in E3 plugs in their place. Pepboys claimed they do not carry the Autolite plugs for an 05 Mustang because the car is too new and the original plugs should last at least 80K miles. What a load of crap. Anyways, changing the plugs almost eliminated the sputtering but not quite. I then cleaned the MAF and TB. This eliminated the rest of the sputtering upon acceleration.

Thanks for all your help. You saved me a lot of money.
