Default HELPPPP!

I bought a 2008 Bullitt in the u.s.a and brought it up to canada. For me to register the car it has to pass an inspection. In canada we need day time running lights. The trick is the head lights are HID lights and nobody up here knows how to hook up the drl lights with hid lights.

Any advice is greatly appreciated for i have a beautiful car that is sitting in my garage

Thanks

Run a separate switch and tap in to something that is lit or running only when your car is on, don't know the relays yet. Or check and see if your Canadian counter parts have a different headlight switch, if they do buy one and install it.

You don't need to move to the USA. Couldn't you re-install a stock pair of headlights and have the DRL's wired up with those?

Wow.
DRLs are dimmer headlights and HIDs cant be dimmed for DRL use.
Its not a different headlight switch.
Its a relay in the BEC with load resistors to drop the voltage to
the headlights for daytime use. Headlights off, the SJB puts the load
resistors in there with a relay in the BEC and headlights on, the SJB
takes the resistors out of circuit and applies full voltage with another
relay in the BEC.
Drill the housings and install a DRL bulb wired to run supplied power.
Fool the ol canadians or as mentioned above, silly law, just move to the states...

In Canada you do have to have DRLs, but they need not be running at n% to be legal, they just need to be on whenever the engine is on. You can hookup a relay trigger to turn the low beam HID on with ignition and it would pass.
