HA! yeah no kidding. I was quoted $80 to program my keyless entry.. it literally took me 7minutes to do it myself. not even exaggering.. that was the time it took to figure out where the switch was.. and find somethint to short it with, as well as do it. amazing. $256 for two keys and the keyless switch. I won't go to ford unless i absolutely HAVE to.

i thought it would be a good idea to take it to ford because the gears are a touchy thing, but nothing would justify 825 bucks! i fortunately made friends with a guy who works there and might be able to set me up with a guy who can do it for alot less. and he's a ford tech too... so we'll see how that goes...

oh so you haven't done it yet!? good if not.. i got mine done last week for $400. that was gear install, bearing kit for both side axel bearings and labor. all i paid for was ring/pinon/bearing kit for ring/pinon. the rest he did. was $250 for gears, $42 a side for bearing kit and labor.. tried to give me $20 back. so 380... they are talkin like $200hr for labor there hahaha. no way.

yeah. lol. when i saw the estimate came to 825 a was like no effing way! they also said it would take up to 9 hours. just to put a ring gear on the diff and the diff in the car. i know its hard work, and pretty tedious, but i've heard it gets done in 3-5hours tops.

the tech that will do it for me ouside the stealership said it would be 300 flat.

ahh, thats more like it there, and he'd still be banking some good money on labor with that. dealerships are insane with they're prices. guess people just don't know any better, or they do that for the insurance companies, they get a good rapping i guess i dunno. but not me.

Curious....was it that same dealership I met you at when you were getting your brakes done? I've been very disappointed in the service I got there as well especially with their connection to the Mustang community.

I PM'd you

yeah it sure was. i guess i could have gotten those brakes done cheaper too! i talked to this place called Maverick Motors over on Main St. and Mink Rd. in columbus. they're well known for doing quality stuff and race their own cars and stuff. they quoted me 275 if i provide my own gear oil.

*** the dealership. I am hesitant even going there for free warranty work. They charge what they want to because they can. Its not right imo.
