6x8 or 5x7 will fit doors and rear deck. And Kicker makes a replacement sub for the doors. Check http://www.crutchfield.com/ for doors and rear deck. Shelby sell the subs. http://www.shelbyperformanceparts.co...20Woofers.aspx

Just replaced the 6x8 with some Kenwood 6x8's and the sound improvement was huge. Got both pairs on ebay for $90 total. Ordered a 10" 250 watt Bazooka that showed up today. Hope to get it installed this weekend.

I really like the Bazooka bass tube. I have one in my truck and one in my Conversion van.

So far I only replaced the fronts. Was waiting for my sub to show up before I replaced the rears. Took me about 1 hour to do the door speakers. Pretty straight forward task that most should be able to handle. Rear speakers look a little more involved.

Improvement with the fronts only was huge - I'd rate the old speakers about a 5 & the new Kenwoods at 9. Very much worth my $90 investment. Got the Bazooka 250 watt 10" sub for $253 from ritz camera. So all together it was a $343 investment. Sub is a little bit bigger than I was expecting & will take up some trunk space.

Which Kenwood speakers did you go with?

Infinitys have the highest 1W/1M SPL rating
to take full advantage of the low power
of the Shi**er 500s internal amps.
Kenwoods have the lowest of all the 6x8s
listed in Crutchfield.
Its like throwing available audio watts out the window....
If Kenwoods rate as a 9 and stockers rate a 5, then Infinitys
would rate about 15....
They cost a little more but YGWUPF and who wants to waste
installing a sub standard product when better ones are available...

alright.. so i wanted to put an additional sub to get more bass in the back.. but i dont want to spend an arm and a leg on an amp a box and the sub.. so ill prolly go with only the front speaker replacements to at least get me a better sound.. and when were talking about replacing the front speakers, were talking about the top ones on the door right? not the lower subs? and which size and type do i buy? Thanks

Sometimes you can find great deals on amplified subs in Craigslist or eBay. I bought a 10" Bazooka amplified for $50 last year off of eBay. I had a local audio shop to check it out and make sure that I didn't get stuck and they said I got a a great deal. My sub would have been like $200+ if I had bought it brand new.
