BamaChips.com is who we are talking about. They are one of the best tune writters around. Bama is a small buisness but according to MANY people they write incredible tunes. Their prices are compedative and up until this recent dibocal their customer service has reportidly been outstanding. I think this most recent thing thats going on is just a bad break for Doug (owner). I guess what happened was: owner (Doug) and employee (Matt) were the ones writting the tunes. Matt no longer works there, and they ran a sale getting tons of tune orders. They can't write the tunes and get them shipped out fast enough. So to focus on getting orders out Doug has opted to let the phone ring. When I finally got ahold of him, he was very nice and sounded sincere about being behind and upsetting people.

Lets see how this panns out. When he gets caught up and back on track, I think I would order from him again. Reputation means a lot to me. I run a small company and know how little things can easily snowball, like losing an employee and having TONS of orders.

Jebmustangv6, why are you planning on getting a different throttle body? They don't really do anything for these cars. As far as the CAI, check out a CAI/tuner combo. I payed $625 for a C&L cai/Xcal3 tuner from Bama (+$10 for shipping). From the research that I've done the C&L seems to be the best. Also Bama will write you updated tunes for free for future mods, whether you bought them from him or not.

I had finally decided to go ahead and get a tuner first, then I will get gears. I really would like to get the tunes from Bama, as from what I read here, they are one of the best. I then thought about brenspeed, but after reading some posts here I am turned off (detonation - black exhaust tips from being too rich)

I hope Bama gets it in gear and I want to know when its good to order from them ( or him )!!! If anyone gets there stuff delivered from Bama, please let us know. Okay - everyone is asking this!

partly I was considering the TB cause I was planing on hiting it with a 100shot of N2O at the track and figured the extra air I should get with the CAI and TB coupled with a cat back would be a good benafit but if the TBs dont do good like the 5.0 ones did then I am open to other suggestions would rather not wast money. Iam new to the v6's and how they responed to mods. so far most the mods I have planed are suspension upgrades. I ordered a front strut tower brace, rear track bar, frame braces along with upgrade front strut plates. thats all the suspension stuff iam doing for now. so for the engine I figured cat back, CAI + tunner, and the TB but if TB is not a good idea maybe LSD and 3.55 or 3.73.

Jeb, start a new thread for your suspension mods so people can reply there.

The approach to S197 suspension is different too. Especially regarding subframe bracing.

That stuff sounds good. If you are going to add spray, then the TB isn't a bad idea. Sorry I forgot to mention that before. The GTs come with 355 gears, a lot of people go with the 373s. In spring I will be upgrading to the larger 8.8" rear end with 373s and T lok.

There are other reputable places to get CAI/tune combo as well. Brenspeed has a very good reputation along with vmp. I would just go with the company that can offer you the best deal on the CAI that you want.

Hey Joshspony, I see by your signature it looks like you got your tuner from Bama, how about an update for those of us who are still waiting for ours?

How long from order to your door?

How many calls/emails to get a reply?

Any problems with it?

Is it worth the hassle of waiting?

Tigercrazy, did you get yours? same questions, how long, do you like it?

Thanks in advance, Vince.

Hi Vince, welcome to the forums. I ordered 7/29, I made multiple emails and calls. Once the notice went up on their website, I kinda laid off, didn't want to add to the problem. But when the notice of being caught up on 9/14 went down I started calling again a week later. I talked to Doug at bama on 9/24 at 10:05 am. He appologized many times for the delay and confusion. Said between losing a guy and a huge backlog it got the best of him. He sounded like a really nice guy and very sincere about the whole thing. He said it was going out thurs 24th and it did (tracking numbers), and I got it on tue 29th. Once it got here I slammed it in that night and love it. I have noticed no problems at all with it. Easy install on CAI and tune. The only problem I can forsee it needing to replaced burnt-off tires. I ordered the 91 torque, 91 perf, and 93 torque tunes. I am running the 91 torque right now. (I always run 91 octane fuel, thats why I didn't get an 87 tune) It really "wakes up" the car. Throttle response A+.

Personally I was starting to get a little pi$$ed about the whole thing, but I am glad I stuck it out. I think once Doug gets caught up things will be fine. I will order from him again. Hang in there, you will be happy with the result.

When and what did you order?
