Default JBA Dual Exhaust Question

I am going to convert my V6 to dual exhausts. I plan on buying JBA headers along with their catback, I just want to know the difference between the true duals and the one with the H-pipe. Anyone know if it will sound like? youtube videos vary way too much to get a real actual perspective on what they might sound like. Some sound raspy, which scares me a little.

Thanks,

Vistang

the "true duals" from JBA is the h-pipe. the other dual setup they offer is the y-pipe. go to their site to visually see the difference. i'm very happy with my setup. its not excessively loud but it definitely produces a throaty muscle tone. seems appropriate for the 6er IMO.

thanks, would you recommend the package with the Y pipe or H pipe? Which one would be louder and more aggressive?

h-pipe should be a bit louder and throatier due to the cross pipe (h-pipe). another note that wasn't significant in my experience but still worth mentioning is that you may lose some low end torque when going with a true dual h-pipe or x-pipe setup. a CAI and good tune will make up for this and more.

I've had the JBA's with the H since it was new. Nice throaty sound. Only issue I have had is with the drivers side muffler. For some reason I had to replace the rubber hanger three times. I do have the K&N CAI and a Bama tune , so now I'm at 103K miles and am extremely pleased overall.

funny that you say that, i too, have had to replace my driver side hanger once and my car has only been driven maybe 5k.

i have the jba hpipe set up with ford racing stingers... it is wayy too loud, headache loud... i installed resonators (magnaflow bullets) and its a little better. this setup makes gt's sound weak.
