Stangs and the Car Wash
I occasionally hit the touchless car wash from time to time, but 90% of the time, I wash by hand. It sucks this time of the year, but IMO the paint holds up better, longer.
I do threaten to beat the attendant to death at the local touchless when he pulls out this nasty dirty bristled brush on a pole and repeatedly, enthusiastically tries to talk me into letting him scrub the paint with it! NO WAY! Wheels and tires only, please!

How I wish I could give my Pony a bath but the weather has been all wrong for it! I'm afraid my car would turn into a rolling replica of the iceberg that sunk the Titanic...so I'll have to live with that light layer of perpetually wet grime (from the constant rain/wet snow/sleet we've been getting all month.) until further notice. Sigh.
Run mine through the car wash in the winter. Otherwise I would have to fight my way through the deer herds licking the salt off it. If it were a show car and not a daily driver, I might think differently. So an occaisional wash and absolutely an undercarriage spray with rust inhibitor.
My buddy bought me a bottle of FW1 Racing Formula, Its a high performance cleaning wax. Waterless wash and wax works on paint, chrome, rims, glass, plastic and more.
But i was nervous about using it at first i have always washed my car by hand. I like taking my time, turning the radio on and make my baby shine's. I live in an apartment and we have our own car wash but it sucks. So one weekend i was wanting to wash my car and my buddy gave me this can of FW1 to use. So i sprayed a 4in by 4in spot on the driver side fender and wiped it off with a micro fiber towel and then came back over it with a dry micro fiber towel to wipe the wax off. Its been about a month since i used the FW1 and my car is still shinning. So if you guys are looking for something to use in the cold weather that does not require water this is a great product. My buddy got it for $11 at a gas station by our apartment. Here is a website that is listed on the can RGSLABS.com and worked great on my rims to hope this helps you guys out.

And I do wish I could wash either of my ponies, but they'll just have to settle for being dirty and grimy for a little while. Esp. the Fox body. It's just too darn cold this week.
Always by hand!
i dont trust anything
its not too bad here in CA because it doesnt get that cold but when i lived in NJ the salted roads did hell on the cars.
we used to give them a fast wash and hose out then pull them in the garage to dry
it was never too cold to get the salt off our cars but then again, i come from a car loving family
