Default Maintainence Question

Well I'm reaching 24500 on my 07 mustang and have some questions about maintainence. It's time for me to change the oil and I have been taking it to ford all the time.

question #1- I know ford uses all motorcraft products but if i take to a bp station where they change oil would it make a difference if they use mobil 1 oil.

question #2- With the amount of miles that I have should I switch to synthetic oil.

question #3- Is there anything else I should get checked example cleaning of the air filter

I would suggest switching to Mobil 1 full synthetic.

Get your air filter checked and replaced as needed every oil change. (changed only when needed)

Fuel filter replacement time.

And a new pine scent christmas tree air freshner

A synthetic blend is just fine if you change your oil within 7500 miles or 6 months. Full synthetic and a high capacity/efficiency filter will let you go beyond 7500 (typically 8,000-10,000 miles or 1 year) safely providing you're not doing a lot of stop and go, short trips or very "spirited" driving. You can swap over to full synthetic anytime although some have reported issues when switching over from dino to full synthetic on a high mileage engine. Yours is not that case. Mobil1 is a decent oil for the money. I recommend Amsoil 0W20 and the Amsoil Ea filter IF you can afford it. If not, M1 and an M1 filter are fine. I use M1 in my SUV which is my tow vehicle and change that at 8,000 miles. Also, do your own oil changes if you live where it's feasible. It's just TOO easy.

The stock air filter is not cleanable. Just buy a new one. But for the performance gain, get a CAI & tune combo.

Other than that, consider replacing the fuel filter between now and the next 10,000 miles.

Yea, get a K&N KN2010 filter or a WIX or a NAPA Gold (WIX).
Stay away from the FR*M filters. I have cut quite a few open
and the WIX is the best and the F*AMs are cheap china junkola
inside.
Mobil1 is good but a simple Google search would suggest different...
