If I recall correctly, it was the front LCAs.

The car is a 2007, with 51,000 miles on it.

So it sounds like you're out of warranty, no? If it's under extended warranty, the TSB will/could apply and the repair is/should be free. Since my 07 is only at 21K miles and has 8 months left on the 3/36 warranty, my repair was free.

It's a second hand car, out of warranty.

I checked with the dealership again - they want $327.00 per control arm.

Default front arms

Ebay has a set of front new lowers from BMR today for a buy it now of 399.99. These are relatively easy to change out with new hardware recommended. These are over 11 pounds lighter than factory stock and seems to be well received with some posts on another forum. Anyways that would be over saving over 230 than the Ford replacements. Just a thought. The # is 120520410420. Good luck with your project.

Thanks akdoggie, I'll look into those.

Meanwhile, any more suggestions?

The dealer/stock parts are $686 (for a pair). . .

Preferably compatible with S-197 models right out of the box.

yOU CAN GET the GT500 replacement LCAs with the firmer rubber bushings
for way cheaper than that thru mossmuscle and they even come with the
needed one time use Ford hardware.

$139 and the install is a snap.

Next question, how many miles do you havge on your 07
that warrant LCA replacement????
for such a new vehicle?
