Should I switch Intake Systems? JLT to a C&L?
Currently I am running a JLT Intake system with a 91 Race tune from Bamachips. I love the intake and it made the car plenty more fun to drive and makes load of power (I got the 1/8 mile to 9.4 seconds, and my 0-60 in 6.1 seconds).
But, I just don't like the overall quality of the intake, it seems cheap. I look at the C&L Intake and it just looks better, cosmetically and designed.
I see that the JLT Intake uses 89mm MAF Housing, compared to C&L's 83mm MAF housing. Does that mean that the JLT can produce more power? I don't really want to sacrifice power if I do make the switch to the C&L.

+1... purely a cosmetic decision. the only reason to swap would be because you really don't like the quality of the JLT and you love the looks of the C&L. other than that, difference in power will not be noticed.

+1 on the above posts. Keep in mind if you do decide to switch intakes that you will probably need a new tune as well.
I debated between the JLT and C&L when I bought mine. For me it came down to looks, I went with the C&L.

If looks are the issue.....check out the FRPP....I think theirs looks the best. That is what I plan to go with. There is a local performance shop...Rocket Performance....they do their own tunes......I am going with them.

I have a C&L cause I bought it used. I got it for in a package deal. I believe it is called the street intake? its for a V6 and I was wondering a simular question to the OP's witch is what is the difference between the street version and the race version? Sorry to the OP if I am hi-jacking a bit.

i believe the only difference between street and race versions of the C&L is the tube itself. one is made of high quality, thick-a$$, heavy duty aluminum while the other is made of some composite materials which i'm guessing is for a cooler air charge. correct me if i'm wrong.
