Question Brenspeed Custom Tune - Suggestions??

I am finally going to purchase the SCT custom tuner from Brenspeed, thanks to Uncle Sam!

Anyone have any suggestions on the octane and tunes I should get?

Georgia
Octane 87 - 89 - 93

Thanks in advance!

If I recall, I will have the choice of 3 custom tunes with Brenspeed. There is a Torque, performance, Race tune.

I drive 3.5 miles to work and back and hit all back roads and rarely get on the highway.

Should I do:

87 Torque
89 Performance
93 Race
?????

make sure you get one that is low octane, incase your traveling and can only get that octane. I regret not getting a 93 race when I ordered my tunes. I have 87 torque, 91 perf, and 91 torque. With my new rear end I am installing in a couple weeks, I will be getting 87 torque, 91 torque, and 93 race.

The difference between torque and perf is where in the rpms it targets. Torque tune gives more focus under 3000 rpms and perf gives more focus above 3500 rpms. I don't drive over 3500 much and want the extra down lower.

Brenspeed doesnt have different kinds of tunes such as race and torque, they just different octanes. They said that all their tunes are for max numbers and the different names of tunes is a marketing ploy.

Thank you for the clarification laterrider and 2010C6Stang!
I assumed it was the same ordering process as Bamachips. On Bama's website, when you order the SCT custom tunes, they have a drop down where you can list the octane and the type of tune, such as: torque, race, and performance.
I placed my order and am awaiting an email from Brendspeed so I can relay my mods and Octane in my area.
I am so stoked to get the tuner!!!
Thanks again!

they might say that but its not true. There is most certainly a difference in the tunes. i have run all 3 of Bamas tunes and also a brenspeed tune. There is a different in all of them. Numbers dont alway mean everything. There is alot to tuning to meet the different needs of the drivers out there. Not everyone needs a beast on the daily drive but wants one for the track and such

Yea I agree, just saying thats what brenspeed told me about there tunes. I went with them because Bama was down, I would much prefer a torque tune rather then whatever.
