I see a lot of talk of the X Charger set up.
Anyone tried using the Banshee set up from C and M?
It's far cheaper, and the Explorer crowd loves the better numbers and less cost than the X Charger set up. $1500 for the set up, you add the M90 and the fuel system to support your needs.

That "kit" (I use the term loosely for any product featuring copper plumbing pipe and fittings) isn't designed for the drive-by-wire 4.0L in the Mustang, directs the air intake to the wrong side, uses an older generation m90 blower rather than the MP90, and from the look of things, the height of that setup might not clear a stock Mustang hood.

Honestly I've seen 17 year old ricers cobble together blower installs that looked more professional.

I had to go look it up after your post Paul.

That "kit" does not include the price of the supercharger itself. Plus it looks absolutely horrible. I would rather stay stock than put that on my car.

Sorry to be so harsh LilRoush, but yuck :P

Yeah, I didn't add a link, because if somebody actually bought that mess I didn't want to be even 1% responsible. And I concur, yuck :P

Does the fact that the OP lives in CA change anything? I know they sell CA legal and non-legal X-Chargers, how does the Wet-X option and Intercooler effect that?

Intercooled X-Charger is CA smog legal for Mustangs.

Nah, if he bought it on a 5 year loan for instance, depending on weather he bought it in early or late 2006 he might owe anywhere between 3 and 7K to pay it off. Heck the car is worth more than that one a trade in. Obviously we don't know the details of his loan and I'm not asking because it's not our business. But likely he owes less than the car is worth so he could probably trade it in and actually have a little to put down on a new one. Heck even if he was upside down (unlikely) he doesn't "have" to shell out any money if he doesn't want to. A down payment is nice and it lowers your monthly payment but it's not necessary.

forced4 makes a kit. So does powerhouse. Great turbo basics info on the forced4 site if you want to think about putting together your own kit.

Ah, well there we have it. I'm just throwing it out as an option bob. Trading into a 300 hp 2011 is obviously faster than wrenching on your 2006 to get the hp you want, and you get the added bonus of having the revamped and somewhat nicer interior. On the other hand, you have a paid off car and that's a good thing and I fully understand and appreciate your desire to mod it. I'm not going to trade mine in. It's getting paid off and then I'll get another one to drive while I mod my first one.
