I bought one on ebay for 50 bucks. It is just a touch louder then stock inside the car. At idle, you will notice no difference. At cruising speed it sounds stock too...

I really do not think it was worth the money.. not a big enough change inside the car. When i pulled away from my house like a bat outa hell, my family said they heard a big difference. I heard it just a touch louder... you can now hear it, but it is nothing like the 14" magnaflow i had on my f150.

Dude, that's weak. The exhaust will outlast the rest of the car, usually; ok, well maybe not if you get a lot of salt. But the exhaust is all stainless, and is the same pipes on a GT, stainless.

Doing a muffler change for performance is a better reason, as is doing duals. It'll sound better, but not like a V8.

Theres little to no sound change with a GT muffler, its a bit more pronounced with duals but, not by much. I'm running GTBs now and it sounds good enough for me.

There's a local guy selling his mufflers from his 08 Bullitt. It's a 4" tip for $275. Do you guys think it's worth it or should I just save my $ for Borlas?

I'd personally save for the Borlas.

But the GT mufflers are a good starting point, theyre cheap, plentiful and sound a lot better than stock (especially duals). I've had mine for a while and want to upgrade. They're other things higher on the list so it will have to wait. Finding the right exhaust seems like a never ending experiment though

I have GT mufflers now so I guess there isn't that much difference in sound with the Bullitts. Then you factor in the cost really makes me say just wait and be patient for the Borlas.

I put my GT manual takeoff onto my g/f's V6 and it DID improve the sound somewhat, but you're not going to EVER get a V8 sound from a V6.

Be sure to get the GT takeoff from a manual since there IS a difference in the internal design and backpressure. This has been discussed over and over and over.
