Yeah I just take it for what it's worth. That's probably why they were basically giving them away. High 5's is my guess though
Lol what do you mean by factory freak? There is a lot of factors that can contribute to a 0-60 time but I would guess low 6's personally maybe high 5's!

It's something that's been turned into a joke, people claim their car is a "factory freak" to explain ridiculous numbers.

Lol oh gotcha, I would have realized what it meant if I took a second to think about it before.

Aside from it sounding more throaty, does the CAI have that much difference? Or is it 90% tuner?

I'd say it's 75% tune 25% CAI. The tune makes the car more drivable

think of it like this... barry sanders was an AWESOME and LEGENDARY running back regardless of his mediocre (at best) O-line. you combine barry with the dallas o-line of the early-mid 90's and you have the potential for even GREATER stats/numbers.

just a fun analogy...

Roughly 70-80% is the tune. But that doesn't mean that you'd see 20-30% of the combo's gain from a stand-alone CAI. A stand alone CAI would gain you less. The tune alone is worth the added RWHP gain but it also enhances what the (tune-required) CAI has to offer, hence the push by forum members to do the combo and not one or the other.

After driving my tune for about 2 weeks, I thought I would post my impressions. I've spent some time with all three tunes: 87, 89, 92. I installed the CAI and tune mainly to help out in passing, merging, and accelerating uphill. My sixer always seemed to lack torque in those situations. Even the 87 Brenspeed is a big improvement over stock. As everyone says, the throtle response is much quicker and there's just overall a bit more ooomph in acceleration. I have to say, though, that it's really hard to use anything else after getting used to the 92 tune. Off-the-line acceleration is really quick. The biggest change is in merging and passing. Just a tap on the peddle and the car shoots forward. Downshifts to 4th seem much quicker also. I will leave the 92 tune in all summer. Once fall starts I go back to serious highway commuting and will go back to the 87 or 89 during the week just to save some cash.

Would I do this mod again? You bet! Along with installing the take-off sway bars and polybushings, this is the most he cost-effective mod I've done. I have to say that I'm curious about the AM/Bama 92 torque tune. I may have to try that one.

I'm considering getting the JLT intake and tune. Their shop is only minutes from where I live so I guess they could do a custom tune for me.
Glad to hear you are having much success and fun!
