I have a set that I bought about 3 yrs ago. They aren't up to the quality standard of the JBA's but I wasn't expecting them to be. There was some surface rust in places but overall they were decent knock off. Expect to possibly need to tweak them a bit. I had to enlarge a few of the holes to ease alignment mounting with to the left head. Also, on that same side the egr tube need to be bent to get it to align with their header bung. As far as the finish goes it didn't hold up well, but the north east winters don't help that. I am surprised that they haven't developed any holes from rusting through and I have a lot of miles on them in all kinds of weather.

I'm sure that most of the corrosion came from the salt off the road up north.

Take a look at the 60* v6 in the S197 engine compartment again. Installing headers is not a big deal, they just drop right in from on top. Nothing like the tight confines of the v8 w/ the wide heads and 1 extra cylinder per side.

I was wondering why he said that....

What can you tell me about performance/sound wise about them?

Installing headers on most V8's is a bitch and not something you want to do too often. I don't see any reason you would redo the job unless appearance is important. If your going to show the car then I would go with a set of ceramic coated headers so they always look new. Also, you do get what you pay for is generally true so you could have some defect that would cause you to reinstall.
I corrected my post to read 60*. Its the tighter V compared to the 90* that is such a big help.
Lots of things affect the sound including the type of metal used for the headers and exhaust. I expect the JBA's to be made from better materials but the sound is probably very similar as the tube size and length are the same. The tone will lower and be a little richer.
vid here for sound sample of my set up.
