Default Anyone with Amer. muscle GT style fogs for V6?

Looking to see if anyone has the American Muscle gt style fogs and did NOT buy the wiring harness and switch.

Wondering if I can just wire directly to a toggle switch???

Don't want to shell out $170 for harness and $70 for switch.

Do you have the Pony Package? If so you already have all the guts you need to wire the lights.

Hey..Im not sure if I do or not. Just bought this for my daughter. It's an 05 and I don't think that fogs were an option for this year.

So I can't just run it to a toggle?

Yes you can but you still need to run wiring and a relay

Yep, relay.
And wire the power source for the toggle
to a switched 12V with the ignition so your
daughter does not get stranded when she
leaves them on (toggles are like that).
Key OFF, Fogs OFF regardless of toggle switch position.
Pick up the fused power for the relay at the BEC under the
hood at the OEM Fog fuse location with a tap-a fuse.
Goto the parts store and get two plugs for the two 9145
fog light bulbs
, Bosch Fog Light relay, Toggle switch,
Tap-A-Fuse, wire, wire loom, zip ties, etc.

The $75 is not sounding too bad at this point, eh?
(Harnesses are not $170???) Link to the $170 harness??
eBay has them for $75-$100 depending if you want the
PP/GT fog light enabled headlight switch or not...

OEM harness, instructions included, $55 + S/H, no one has bid on it.

You can get these harnesses all day long 7 days a week, 365 days a year for $65 + S/H.

American Muscle does not have the V6 fog light
harness market cornered enough to be charging
$170 for a simple harness unless it INCLUDES
the OEM PP/GT headlight switch

in appearance mods i have a sticky and here is an article on the street scene wire install. it uses a ground as the trigger so you don't have a hot wire running to the dash. http://www.thechromepony.com/Mods1-05.html man my car looks different!

you can also run the trigger to come on when the running lights come on so then you don't even have to run anything to the dash and they can not be left on. you can also make it so when the high beams come on they turn off as in some states that require that.

the use of relays opens the door to many ways to set them up. i chose to install the factory fog switch after the initial street scene install. i just liked the stock set up. but i also noticed that the lights on our year are very weak.

you may want to just go the relay off of the running light way it is the cheapest and insures they are on all of the time. it is a really easy setup. just get the relay and the 2 plugs that 157 mentioned. fuse holder and a few feet of wire and you are there.

i will draw up a wire diagram for you if you like.
good luck
Tom

SUPER info. Thanks so much. Didn't know where else to look besides A.M...will be getting the made up harness.

Here's the link for A.M fog light...use drop down box for the $160 harness.
