Default Remote keyless stolen...What to do?

One of my remote keyless entry fobs was stolen from my car by someone who could possibly access my car without my knowledge. Is there a way to disable the keyless entry so that I could just use my actual key or an ability to reprogram the RKE fob I have now to another code thus disabling the stolen fob?

All you do is retrain the car for a FOB set. I think it will forget the missing one. Same for the PATS key. Hopefully you have at least 2 pats keys to get the car in PATS learn mode. If not, a dealer can help for a fee. That is what I would do. Retrain the car for the Authorized keys.

Although unless you change the mechanical locks, the missing key would still open the Door and Trunk. It would not be able to start the engine or disable the Alarm though.

I'm sure if you take it to the dealership and get it re-programmed they will not be able to access your car. Or do a stakeout for a few nights and when they come up shoot them with a shotgun.

If all they took was the fob, you can reprogram your remaining fob according to the instruction in the manual. You don't need two fobs to program one. And once you reprogram a fob, all the prior ones won't work to access the car.

If they took a key as well then you have to go to the dealer to address that issue. You can't program the keys unless you have two keys.

I'm not sure if doing the reprogram of two keys means the third one which the thief has is no longer active for your system.

That sucks dude. You can just take it to a dealer and re-program it for like 50 bucks.

thanks jim , i thought i saw this somewhere

How to reprogram your remote entry transmitters
You must have all remote entry transmitters (maximum of four)
available before beginning this procedure.
To reprogram the remote entry
transmitters:
1. Ensure the vehicle is
electronically unlocked.
2. Put the key in the ignition.
3. Cycle eight times rapidly (within
10 seconds) between the 1
(OFF/LOCK) position and 3 (ON).
Note: The eighth turn must end in
the 3 (ON) position. The doors will
lock, then unlock, to confirm that the programming mode has been
activated.
4. Within 20 seconds press any button on the remote entry transmitter.
Note: If more than 20 seconds have passed you will need to start the
procedure over again. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that
this remote entry transmitter has been programmed.
5. Repeat Step 4 to program each additional remote entry transmitter.
6. Turn the ignition to the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position after you have finished
programming all of the remote entry transmitters. Note: After 20 seconds,
you will automatically exit the programming mode. The doors will lock,
then unlock, to confirm that the programming mode has been exited.
