Default How to get more torque?

After doing some reading, it seems I need to have more torque, and not worrie so much about adding hp. Correct me if Im wrong. Im not looking really to make my car fast but just quick. I bought a v6 knowing its not a gt.

The only thing Im really looking for is somthing that will make it quick off the line, and be able to burn the tires a little. My v6 right now jsut wont do, and Ive tried to powerbreak (although I was nervous to put too much stress on the car so I didnt rev the rpms too high) Ive even just turned the corner fast and I get nothing.

So back to the question. What can I do to add torque? Again Im just looking for that punch off the line. I dont race but when I have a little honda next to me at the light, with his cherry bomb muffler I wana take him down. It seems all mods talk about adding hp. Again I might be wrong and maybe more hp adds more torque. Can you please clear this up for me?

CAI & good tune or gears (with t-lok) is probably the easiest way to add some torque.

There's also F/I for bigger numbers:
Nitrous
Supercharger

they both go hand in hand. when you look at a dyno sheet the torque curve is a derivative of hp (if i remember correctly)

thats kinda strange. I had no problems spinning tire when it was pure stock. (no CAI/Tune) is advancetrac off?

Either way, like was said^^ CAI/Tune/Gears...Gears would most likely be the largest difference maker though.

get a manual,, if not get a Gt, if no pull the ebrake up all the way then accelerate.

Just weird how people buy stock V6s then get mad they dont bburnout? Whats the point of that anyways

Im not trying to offend anyone, this is just for my interest since i used to have a V6

A vert is pulling more weight so that is working against you. Plus if you're at high altitude that hurts power output to make things worse. IMO get a CAI w/a custom tune package and you'll be much, much happier. If that isn't enough power consider a gear swap.

@tigercrazy718 Actually, its the reverse. hp is a derivative of torque. Here is a decent explanation & history.

I can't do a burnout but I sure can slide around turns. Not sure why you can't. My 2006 v6 is totally stock (to my knowledge, as the guy who owned it before me might have done some minor mods), but I intend to get a CAI and custom tune as soon as I have the money, because these guys seem to know what they are talking about.

I have a V6 5-speed and can chirp the tires pretty good. This was before I installed my CAI & custom tune.
Definitely get the tuner/custom tunes and CAI!!!!! You won't be dissapointed!!!!
