Thats what I hear as well at high speeds. I'd upgrade if I were going FI. If you're getting tlok and gears maybe think of just swapping a take off GT rear axle so you don't have to go through any hassles of a bad install. If the money isn't tight you could do the aluminum drive shaft at the same time. As far as the CAI go for a cai/tuner combo.

Here's some take off axle prices.. http://www.speedconcepts.net/index.php?cPath=21_32_80

Keeping the stock shaft won't be an issue with just gears/cai/tune. But like I said, if the money isn't tight it's a worthy upgrade even if not going FI.

Mainly the 05 driveshafts had problems of the retaining clips backing out at high speeds...

i heard they break at excess of 115mph, ive pushed it past that and been fine, as for tq? im not sure, as stated, you should just do a rear axle swap, and get a new driveshaft from shaftmasters, they are lightweight and lose rotating mass, which means its easier to transfer power from your flywheel to your wheels.

Those are some pretty good prices, especially compared to newtakeoff's.

But replacing the driveshaft with a one piece aluminum would be beneficial even if you're not going F/I. It's not the most cost-effective mod but it's insurance against the driveshaft grenading at high speeds and you'll pick up a few hp from the lighter weight. Also, if you put some better tires and swap the driveshaft you'd be safe to remove the limiter and top it out
