Default Side marker and licence plate light out

Ok so over the weekend I swapped out my v6 rear bumper for a GT rear bumper. Gotta thank Junior ... found that gem already painted black for 85 bucks !!!!. Anyway I got everything swapped over and looking good but now my rear side marker lights and licence plate light do not work.

I cannot remember for the life of me if they worked or not prior to the swap so

A) what fuse controls these lights? I did a search and found fuse 67 however that fuse is good and it also controls the instrument cluster which works fine.

B) what are the chances that all 3 light bulbs are just burnt out?

C) what else could be wrong? Wire harness looked in good shape when I swapped it out and I double checked and everything is plugged in right.

Anyhelp all of you other experts can offer would be awesome.

Thanks,

There is a possibility all of your lights went out, that happened to my friends S197 her side markers and 3rd brake light were out. Pop the bulbs out and check to see if their burnt looking, it is pretty easy to tell if they are out or not. I would double check where you plug the harness into in the trunk first.

That's really funny because when I had my rear bumper off a passenger tail light bulb and the passenger side marker light both "burnt out" as well. Worked fine before I took the cover off and when it was all back together those 2 were out. Just had to replace the bulbs and back in biz. How odd is that?

Bulbs must be shorting out somehow, I'm sure dB will chime in...

Weird, all 3 of the bulbs were out. Replaced them and they work fine now. Will keep them monitored. I have no clue if they were actually working or not prior to bumper cover swap.

Those aren't really lights that are paid attention to much.

Except for the cops round here...

It seems that before starting a job that includes lighting,
one should know what is working to rule
out the possability of forking something up
in the process of doing something else.

Its just not that good to dive into something without some thinking first.

I would suspect a bad connector, pin 4(C405).
Hope you dont have the wet SJB syndrome.
Thats the only thing common to the
three not working properly
except burnt out bulbs.

Sylvania LongLife ForTheWin....

Might be a good time to replace ALL your bulbs in a preventitve manner since
it seems you seem to not notice non working outside illumination. LOL
I always wondered just who can drive around with burned out bulbs.

Thats the truth I've been pulled over for a tag light out twice but it was just really dim, and then on the other hand I think they just pulled me over snooping around.

That should be a semi-regular check (DOT says each time you drive) I know the cops around here are good for pulling you over due to a bulb, on a fishing quest.

Thats pretty much anywhere man, I got searched last time I got pulled over for having a tag light out and it wasn't even out. After he pulled me over he mentioned why he pulled me over and never said another thing about it, he was too worried about wanting to search my car.
