Any Regrets?

Any Regrets?
Just wondering if anyone here regrets getting the v6 over the v8?
I am finding some good priced 4.0L mustangs...and the v8 is out of my range.
Im 17, so the typical kid who wants a sick fast ride (sorry..)
Im just hoping that I wont regret the 90HP difference as well as the sound.
Im actually considering getting an 04 GT
04 GT vs 05 v6
04: 6.3 sec 0-60 mph and 14.6 1/4 mile
05: 6.9 sec 0-60 mph and 15.3 1/5 mile
Its a small small difference and the 05 is WAY cooler..
but the 05 GT with the v8 has a 0-60 in 5.1 and a 13.5 1/4 mile
ugh!
its difficult to grasp.
anyway, are you all happy with the v6?
Thanks!

The V6 is a great car. You can mod them up in time to run and sound just like a v8. Also your insurance will be cheaper. Now it comes to body stile. The 05 has a newer body stile than the 04, you said you like the 05 better that’s fine. I like the 99-04 body stile better. So time to make a call, If I were you I would go with the 05 V6 hands down. Good luck

Thanks muzzy, appreciate the quick response. Yeah it will save me about $200 a year on insurance or so. And the 05 seems so much better built. I just fear that I will always have the "I have a mustang but its not an 8..." thought in the back of my head.

I debated about an 04 GT vert and and o5 V6 vert. in the end I liked the new body style so much more I was willing to live with the v6, even though I complain about it sometimes. If you haven't owned a V8 yet its not a big deal, and you won't know any better so go with the V6 for now.

A GT would have been great, and it will certaintly get you more respect, but the v6 with a few mods can get your v6 to beat the 04 gt. The problem is, even if your car is more powerful, people will see the gt and think "fasssssssst". Also, if the gt and the sixxer are the same price, you can buy the same upgrades you were going to get for the 6 and stick them on the gt and it will rip. CAI w/tune, gears, better sounding mufflers, etc.
I am beyond pleased with my v6, and I am 16, but if I had the chance to get a gt instead, I would have jumped on it. In the end, it is really up to you, but remember, no matter which you get, you still have a mustang.

@17 yrs old it should save you alot more than $200.00/year on insurance.. I'm 34 with a perfect driving record and would pay alot more than $200.00/year extra on a GT.

Go with what you want, personally if I had the choice between an 04gt and a 05-09 V6 I would go with the V6 mainly cause it looks better IMO and it doesn't take much to beat an 04GT. I've actually beat that body style GT from a dig, driver mod FTW. In the long run you can just swap a 4.6 in it or super/turbo charge it.
Go with whats more practical.

I have an '07 GT and bought the g/f an '06 V6. She loves her Pony and thinks the V8 is too much, despite her lead foot driving style. Other than wishing her V6 sounded more like a V8 (we did put my GT takeoff axleback on her V6 for a bit deeper tone), she simply loves the retro look. I, on the other hand and in no way mean to bash, just can't get over the difference between the performance and would not have been happy with a 6 after having the 8. Take it for what it's worth...

A mustang is a mustang. When I was 17, I was quoted almost 3K a year for insurance on a GT and only $1800 for my v6, with both cars being on my parents plan. I have both now and I prefer to drive the v6 more than the gt.
