Shortly after buying our 06 Pony Mustang I installed the the GT takeoff from a manual with an x-pipe and was very happy with the results. You can hear it run the 1/4 via the link in my sig.

I'm not convinced that they sound like the stock V6 muffler. I have the GT500 take offs on my car - but up until the 2010 model year the GT500 used the stock mufflers for the automatic:
This is when I first put them on:

And this is the same car with just a lot more miles on it

For those of you with the single GT going to dual GT take offs, what was the sound change? was it the same sound just in stereo? I love the way mine sounds now and have the pipes and mufflers to go dual but am worried my tone will change and I won't like it as much.

I'm in the same boat as you right now, I only have the single GT Takeoff on, but it sounds so much better!

Sucks being in college with no job haha

I ran a single GT takeoff for a few months before getting duals and installing the second one. The change was an improvement. There's a richer tone, mainly from the "stereo" effect. The tone has mellowed over time. It's got a nice growl under throttle but is quiet at cruise. To be honest, the change from single GT to dual GT wasn't as great as from stock to single GT. The same is true for performance. I noticed a very slight uptick in torque when I went to the single GT but no change at all when I went to duals.

The 'popping' you are hearing is the PCM being in OPEN LOOP mode
before the CATS get up to temp and the O2 sensors start to send
valid readings to the PCM so it can go into CLOSED LOOP mode...

Did you guys cut the hangers and re-weld. I'm installing or trying a GT take off and it is a mile off. Suggestions??

It should mount right up, the mounting holes are exactly the same. Are you sure you have everything on the correct way? It is easy to put the hangers on wrong.
