Any X-men test drive a 2011 V6
#2
I test drove one last weekend. It was nice for a NA car, a little more than my 4.0 had when it was NA. But my Xcharger Xtreme has a lot more for performance.
It should be interesting as the aftermarket starts to ramp up some things for the 3.7 in the performance arena.

So from a pure performance standpoint...you would recommend the X-Charger Xtreme over the new 3.7L? Looks like they produce the same amount of horsepower and torque. But that doesn't always translate to actuality.

I agree 100% with Jim. The '11 V6 engine is a noticable step up from the N/A 4.0L (except maybe in looks, hard to believe they designed something with even less eye appeal with the hood open than the stock 4.0)
The stock 3.7L dynos at about 268HP/260TQ at the wheels (Motor Trend). My "X" currently does 328HP/339TQ where the rubber meets the road, and the torque hits like a sledgehammer from 2K RPM up.
The 3.7L is a wonderful engine, and loaded with potential, but at the moment, I'm still quite happy with the "X" from the performance standpoint.

^Good point. Plus even if your comparing two automatics the mustang with the x-charger will shift much differently because of the tune so even if your somewhat close in HP the driving experience will be much different.
