TSB 7-21-12 instructs the tech to replace the fuel tank with one of a new design if the car exhibits a problem at gas stations where the gas pump stops delivering fuel before the tank is full. This TSB refers to TSB 05-15-12 for additional details of the new fuel tank (perhaps the part number). The Basic Part is the suspect part number.

The TSB only applies to 2005 Mustangs built before 4/26/2005 because the that's when the new revised fuel tanks were introduced onto production vehicles.

What is the build date shown on the label affixed to the driver's side door jamb?

I thought that the way to fill it up was to hold the nozzle upside down?

There's a good chance that your car has the fuel tank that exhibits the problem described by the TSB.

A TSB is not a recall, but just a notice for the techs. It's a start point for described problems from customers. Out of waranty, out of luck.

So there is zero ways fix this aside from turning the nozzle upside down or sideways.
