Default V6 Engine Swap

So I was wondering with the new 2011 Mustang Engine, would be possible to swap it with a say 2005-2009 car. I saw the new Mustang style and I personally like the 2005 style better. I currently own a 2007 v6. This upgrade would of course be a project and I would wait a few (to many) years to attempt it. I know it would be more cost effective to buy a new car but I like to be unique. I would just like to know your opinions for a v8 swap, also are the engine bays the same?

The unknowns as of yet (unless someone has done it all) is the compatibility of the PCM with the rest of the car. Generally, even when swapping an engine into a 2005-2010, you still want the PCM to be the same year as your car or one of the very few compatible years. There are a lot of wiring/circuits and differences have occurred every year, some minor, some major.
Going from a 2-cam to 4-cam engine has implications on the PCM.

Otherwise, the mechanics of swapping a V8 in place of a V6 is not hard, as many of us have done it.

No, I think he is saying that like alot of us, he doesn't like the new style, but does like the new power, so he was thinking about sticking a 3.7 in his v6.

It would require a full swap of electronics, engine, and drivetrain (and k-members). basically everything but the chassis and body.

much cheaper and easier to just do an 05-10 4.6 engine

Thats what I was thinking. It would be much cooler/cheaper/more efficient to drop in an 05-09 v8 then the new v6. Even the new v6 can't outrun the old GTs. Plus, you will have all the benefits of a v8, which, lemme tell you, are pretty large.

I think he was talking about putting a 2011 5.0 engine in his 07 v6...not the new 3.7...read the original post again and you'll see what I mean
