Default changed fuel filter, impressive results

Like you, i've read on here about performance results from changing a fuel filter with skepticism. Changed mine today and have to admit, im impressed.

my car
automatic, 8.8 rear with 3.73 gears, trac loc, aluminum driveshaft, C&l intake with 93 octane torque tune with 33k miles.

Before, I would have to floor it to have it spin tires from a dead stop, and it would mildly spin.

after, 80% throttle sends the car side-ways from a dead stop. keep in mind this is both rear tires spinning.

this was a great cheap performance mod for my car.

I need to do mine, I have 45700 miles... Which tutorial did you use? And where did you get the filter from?

The fuel filter makes a difference. Mine wasn't filthy but I could feel the difference after the change.

I bought an OEM filter from AM.

Think there was a sticky somewhere on here that had instructions on how to change the fuel filter. 05-06 had different holding clips than the 07+ though.

yeah, i just bought a filter from autozone, nothing special... only tool needed was a 10mm socket, remove 3 bolts, then use your fingers to unclamp each "green" clamp holding the fuel lines on and remove. took 20 minutes

So you didn't disconnect the fuel pump relay or anything like that? Did gas spew out?

The car does drive noticeably better with a fresh filter in, and gets better mileage. My old one was filthy

I got mine from AM for $15

I did mine a few hours ago and didn't pull any fuse, no problems and motor is a lot smoother what's the point in removing it?

I replaced mine last year and there was noticable improvement in take-off.

Im curious how long before performance starts to drop again?
1 year, 2 years?
I guess what gas you use is going to be a major factor but really just curious what you guys use as a rule of thumb for replacement.

Thanks

Tam

they say that if you pull the fuse and try to start the car, it relieves pressure in the fuel lines reducing the change of gas spewing.. at least thats the theory
