2011 Mustang V6 Coupe
For anyone that's purchased one....did you have to order it? I've looked at inventories online and most dealers if they stock them at all have maybe 1 or 2. Very few have 3 or more in stock. And none of them have the options that I'd want. They are either stripped or maybe with one package and one option. It's seems they are hard to come by. Thanks

All I wanted was a v6 Premium with 3.31 gears. I had a few color options I was willing to go with. So when I looked at online at various dealers, I found one exactly how I wanted it except it had the security system option too. I decided to get that one.
What you can do is speak to the inventory guy at a dealer you choose and he should be able to give you an idea of what is coming in. So even if it isn't on the lot, you should get an idea of what will be in shortly. Also, they can check regional and inventory typically and might be able to trade for a Mustang you want and get it within a day or two depending on where it is. This will save you a 6-8 week wait if you special order.

That makes sense, thanks. I just thought they'd have more a selection since the car seems to be so hot. I am looking for specific options so that makes it harder. My local dealer said I'd have to order it. I wanted the premium with the security & comfort packages, 3.31's, HID's. Right now there's a $1000 rebate but I think it will go up getting deeper into the winter.

I also wouldn't have minded getting the comfort package, but can live without heated seats. Also, I got the foglamps aftermarket and I no longer have the desire to get HIDs. I guess I could get them just to say I have them, but I honestly have enough light to see very well at night now and the fogs even stay on with the highbeams on.
As far as price is concerned I would highly recommend using a pricing service like USAA. I think my car was supposed to be about $28K MSRP and I got mine for $25K. You will be able to tack on any rebates to that price.

Reminds me when I bought my 10, not a lot of dealers had cars on the lot, the dealer I bought from had 15 cars and only one manual trans (mine) amongst GT's an 6's not too many manuals sold in the D.C. Area apparently because of too much traffic?!?!!!

i got lucky with mine. i live in ks with one of the biggest ford dealers in the nation that had around 75 stangs at the time. Got lucky and had one shipped right down the road to the dealer i wanted to buy from. just be patient and do a lot of research. It helps to get to know the guys at the dealership too, they are more willing to work with you.
