Default Weird spotting on pony badge???

have any of you noticed weird spotting on the steering wheel pony badge? i thought they were blemishes i could polish out but the spots are not technically above the surface. Feedback on this eye-sore issue is very welcome.

My 06 has a little, but unless you are really looking it is not noticeable. Plus, there is a gash right in the middle of mine where the person who owned it before me screwed it up.

Same with mine. Well, when I had a center cap. I need a new one now.

my '05 has a little of it, not enough to really notice. I do not know of a way to fix it though.

Yeah they come right out, they're just a piece of aluminum. I tried to buy a replacement at the Ford Dealer and apparently they don't sell just the center cap, you have to buy the whole airbag assembly...I don't know about that. Maybe there's a place that sells custom replacements?

You have the uncommon "Apaloosa Option"!

Tomorrow morning I will be scrutinizing mine

My Pony has blemishes, but not the vertical silver on the tribar.
I painted the pony with bright silver testors model paint.
The tiny little 1oz bottle from the hobby store.
