Default What's the best way to remove excess weight from the v6?

Difficulty: daily driver with need of back seats.

bonus question: Can I get 330 rwhp out of an X-charger?

Throw away the spare tire j/k

I can't believe they did that to the 2011 V6

No spare/jack (a can of fix a flat should work), take out the seatbelts (XD), not much really.

You can get 330 rwhp with an xcharger and some mods but minimal mods with an intercooled X will get you like 300rwhp.

There's a sticky somewhere that has a weight loss list. But for a DD with a back seat AND keeping the car safe and reliable, you won't be able to dump too much.

Best bet is to start with an aluminum DS which will shed about 30-40 lbs from what I hear. Lighter wheels, lighter battery (maybe an AGM), front stabilizer, a few structural members...

Backseat only weighs about 10 pounds if your lucky and its not worth taking out, its mainly foam especially the bottom half. There is a few people making in the 330rwhp range with the intercooled Xcharger, non-intercooled its unlikely.

So, basically, the best way is through drive train and suspension?

Tubular K-member, aluminum drive shaft, replace power seats with light weight race buckets, lighter(pricey) wheels, small battery.

Dump the Shaker 1000 or any heavy subwoofer setups you might have.

Dump the spare tire and jack. That's what tow service is for.

Lightening the drive train, including wheels, will reduce some of the rotational losses and free's up a few extra RWHP to boot. As far as other "dead" weight, consider how the car feels with and without the average size/weight passenger. SOME folks have a sensitive enough butt dyno to feel the difference.
