X-Charger Maintenence?

X-Charger Maintenence?
Hey guys,
I figured this would get more views than the general X-Charger thread. I'm just curious about what kind of maintenance I need to keep up on with my X, especially since I don't plan on inter-cooling it anytime soon. I've only had it installed for about 10k miles.
When do I need new spark plugs?
New belt? Mine seems to create a lot of black soot (on the nose support piece).
Should I get an oil catch can asap? What brand?
Thanks!

There really is no maintenance for the X, I believe after 100k miles it may need more oil, but that's about it. As far as supporting stuff for the car, Catch can is a good idea, easy to install, i use the UPR oil separator can. No complaints.
the black dust subsided on mine after a few hundred miles, you may want to try a different brand if your results are different, although it won't hurt performance I know it's a pain to try to keep it clean.
There are discussions about various belts, some may be tighter or have better "grip". I think any new belt with shed some dust for a few hundred miles.
You should have installed new spark plugs when you installed the X. Other than that you should follow Fords service schedule for plugs.

The only regular maintenance of the supercharger is to change the oil around 100,000 miles. It has a small port on the front of the snout, left side (allen head screw). You have to use a small hose to siphon out the old oil, and then about 6 - 7 ounces of new oil goes in (slowly) until it weeps back out. The oil is the same as you get from GM for the Pontiac superchargers. I took mine apart after 100,000 miles and checked the coupler and it was like new still.
I replace my plugs about every 30,000 miles (start of each track season). The old ones look pretty good, but the gaps are opened up a little bit usually and since they are cheap it is easier to gap new ones and stick them in.
Get an oil catch can - I have the UPR on mine and it gets about 1/3 full before 3,000 miles with spirited driving. On the 4.0 the catch can is needed on the passenger side, very little blow by on the driver side on the 4.0.
About 1/3 full after 3,000 miles
