Default Bumper damage

So, the previous owner of my Mustang had said he went too far over a parking curb then backed back over it... In shorter terms there is a tear in the bumper. Is there any way to fix this to prevent it from becoming larger? It's also a GT bumper if that has anything to do with it. Thanks.

Guess you could have a body shop take a look at it. If it's really bad it may not be able to be helped, but I am sure there is some kind of filler or putty or whatever that can be put on to hold it together.

Drill a small hole where the tear stops. This will keep the bumper from continuing to rip down the same path.

You may need to replace it. Check around you might get lucky if not check out some after market bumpers.

Post a pic. One thing you could do is install a chin spoiler and cob together the split. This way it hides the tear and you can prevent it from getting much worse. If you put a chin spoiler over it you can just get a small metal bracket and attach it on each side of the split or use wire ties to "sew" up the hole. I don't think there is much to do that will truly fix a tear. You can make it look like new and put a lot of stuff on the back of the tear, but its always going to be structurally weak where the tear occurred. It could work if your careful and don't hit it again.

Derf00, I don't understand how drilling a hole would help, could you explain?

That's pretty nasty. I don't know if it can be fixed, but definitely take it to a body shop to see.
