Default Wiper arm removal on 2006 V6

I'm looking for a tip on Wiper Arm removal -

2006 V6.

I bought the 5 buck tool suggested, but the bolt sticks up too far and tool just pops lose when applying pressure -

Never done this before so looking for a step by step for this 06?

Thanks much,
PoppaPony

Are you talking about removing the whole wiper assembly from the motor? If it is sticking up too far for the tool I would try to pull it up enough to allow that tool to work. I have tried removing them with the tool itself and it is very difficult and I never got mine off.

Thanks _>

yeah, I'm taking off the cowl covers to get a peek inside - dealing with the dreaded leak
on passenger side - bought a battery terminal/wiper arm puller yesterday - hopefully that does it -

Appreciate the feedback -

All day! I've been a pats fan since I was a kid! Family is full of dolphin fans (from Miami) so when I was younger I picked the Pats as my favorite to root against them and then it took off from there!

Yea, introduce carbon monoxide into your cabin air...

The pass side comes off without the fear of damaging
the wiper arm and a lot can be seen from there.
Change the cabin air filter while you are in there...

[QUOTE=157dB;7595837]Yea, introduce carbon monoxide into your cabin air...

..That doesnt even make sense how you would release carbon monoxide into your cabin air. these rubber plugs are ment to drain the water from the cowl,so even with the in (by your theory) you would still have Co2 released into your cabin.

The problem with the plugs is that they get clogged easily from debris, so the water has no place to go and fills up the cowl untill it pours up through your heater core and cabin air filter. So either pull out the rubbers and leave them out or pull the out and clean the out every month or so.

Also the cowl doesnt have to be taken of to take out the plugs. you can get to the from your engine bay. one is located to the lower right of the batter and the other is to the left of the break master cylinder.

Had these mustangs coming into the shop i work at for 5 years, always leaking in the same place, always the same problem. just be glad you havent had to replace you ECU yet

Unfortunately, it's not the drains being plugged - checked that
out a while ago. A small hole in the fire was found and fixed a few months
ago, but still getting water soaking into the heat/noise padding which runs up
cabin side of fire wall - cabin filter looks okay, too.

Car is parked nose down in driveway - I'm under warranty for the
first attempted fix at dealer - so I'm gonna ask them to just seal the
f~€k out of anything which could be causing this at firewall -

Thanks for feedback - Cheers -

(can't figure out how to make my profile include pic of my car?
I uploaded it - but is there another step?)
