Default Blown Rear end

Ok so todaysucked, i got a flat while driving on my neew rear tire, and i noticed on the inside of the rim there is oil. I have the 7.5 rear end with 3.73 gears. I looked between the dust shield and the rotor and there is leaking oil there. It all came to me that there was a random oil spot at my work around (i dont have a assigned spot at my work) where i park. It was like 2 1/2 feet to three. I just had my gears done like maybe 2 months ago by this mech shop cause gears i do not mess with. Did i blow my rear end? or did i just blow a seal? BTW its on the passenger end. If i rememeber correctly the power goes to that side? SO i am wondering if i realy did blow it? Or could the mech shop just have screwed up?

If the leak is at edge of a seal, it's a good bet it's a seal.

Just a seal, but on a side note make sure the breather on the axle is not plugged up when the seal is changed.

And if you are leaking too much, you may have starved the gears for oil and overheated them. Fix it soon. Top off the diff oil until then.

The axle vent is on the passenger side of the 2006. If you do any "spirited driving" it will throw oil out of the vent and all over the axle to the rotor. Check to see how far back on the axle the evidence shows.

So if i do spirited driving like burn outs and speeding etc i will eventually loose all my oil? I mean its dripping while its on a jack stand.

Pics? Could also be brake fluid (check if you're not low!!!).
Otherwise it'll be rear end fluid. As Jim pointed out, if the area around the vent is wet, you likely spewed some out through it and it spread along the axle. If it's just at the axle, then it'll be the axle seal or brake line leaking.

You didnt really 'blow' anything, but as mentioned, if the axle seal is leaking quite a bit, you'll run low on fluid and that'll damage rear end internals.
