Default X Plan Add Ons, Grr!

In the words of my people ... "oiy vey"

$61 for "Fuel Charge," $498 for "Advertising Assesment" ... really.

Getting ready to buy my Mustang (base + performance package) and I went to a dealer where a friend worked. It is not close to home, and not where I would prefer to buy.

Isn't X plan just the fixed x plan price + an admin fee that is allegedly $75? I accept that a dealer deserves to make money and will move the admin fee, I'm okay with that.

Aren't those the only "proper" charges involved?

On a diff topic, Just to be sure, I drove both cars again yesterday. A "regular" Mustang V6 and the Hyundai Genesis R type. The Mustang V6 revs and rips nicely, very nice engine. Chirps the tires shifting to 2nd. The Genesis R has a nice suspension, tight feeling, not quite the eagerness underhood like the Mustang. Both have great clutch take up and nifty feeling shifters. I won't be able to get a feel for the Mustang's perf pkg beefed up suspension til mine comes in, which makes me a bit nervous, but there ya' have it. From all the reviews and test numbers and people's input here, pretty excited about it.

All these views and no responses? Do I have bad breath?

No worries, found out the answer.

After getting multiple versions from Ford’s call center, on the third attempt the rep pulled in the Manager and here are the facts as communicated to me:

For X plan, the price does NOT include charges that assesses the dealer. This included in my case $61 for gas, and $498 for “FDAF or LMDA regional specified advertising fees.” Also, the dealer will charge $75 to $275 addt’l admin fee for handling the transaction.

So is the X-Plan better than dealer invoice?

X plan is above dealer invoice (true invoice, not a claimed invoice). You may be thinking of the Z and/or A plans which for those lucky folks, it's below invoice.
