2011 Problems/
Im looking to get into a mustang again, a new one this time instead of dealing with other peoples problems but wanted to know what the current issues are with it? I really was looking for a stick and sadly have come across tons of people with major transmission issues.. Is the automatic safe?? What about the motor? Just looking to get an overview of what the issues are with this car so far. The MT82 so far has been a major turn off for me..

I've driven mine fairly hard in the year I've owned it, putting on about 28,000 miles. No issues except the cold temp 1st gear issue. I've had a tune on my car the past 14,000 miles without issues. I definitely recommend a CAI and tune if you want to see quick and inexpensive gains.

They have a 3yr/36k mile bumber to bumper warranty with 5yr/50k mile warranty on powertrain, emmisions and safety equipment.
What do you really have to worry about? There were more than 68,600 2011 Mustangs built. How many have you heard having issues? 1% = 686 cars, 5% = 3430 Would you play the lotto if your chance of losing was only 5%? 10%?

Something to remember is that you only hear negatives. You never hear happy people, which ruins how you perceive it.
I purchased my 2012 and couldn't be happier. I also purchased an extended warranty from my dealer for 6 years, 100k miles for $1300. On top of that I also purchased a full maintenance package for an additional $1300. This covers all maintenance including services, oil changes, brakes and everything except tires.
This car will not cost me a penny (except for tires) until 2017. That peace of mind is amazing!

Whilst I'm not in the market for a new 'Stang, I was deeply disturbed to hear they were being equipped with Getrag transmission. I had very serious issues with a 5-speed getrag in my previous ride, a 2007 G5 GT that has put me off ever buying GM again and in all liklihood passing on any Mustang thusly equipped.
But that's just my take.... and yeah, you do hear squawkers... but there are also a lot of folks that rave about their machines as well.
