Default Still have the mod bug...

I thought I was done tinkering with the Mustang for a while, but not quite.

Just this week I'm getting a Porter Cable 7424XP to improve the appearance, a ported throttle body in my quest for every little bit of performance without FI, and a CDC filler panel to eliminate the hideous rear badge. I'm going to test the PC on my truck first so I can get a feel for it.

I'll post picks after I install the rear panel and buff the car.

+1 I can't wait until it cools down later in the fall, its hard to really get the car done right when its as hot as it is outside.

You should see a good throttle response gain and maybe a little power with the PP throttle body, and as far as the buffer goes I hear thats the one to go with. Thinking about investing in one myself!

I hear ya on the heat. It's been brutal! I've been washing the car in the morning an then pulling it into the garage for drying. Black is a real PITA!

If I have time tomorrow I might take a stab at some buffing. But first the throttle body gets installed.

Yeah. I'm starting to become **** about it.

But until I find something better to do, this is it.

Also I would make sure not to use too much pressure when holding the buffer to your car.

I have heard many people end up taking the clear coat and sometimes paint right off the car when using a buffer and they have not had much experience using them.

Thanks for the advice - I appreciate that. I'll practice on the Ranger first. And the 7424xp is supposed to be idiot proof, but I'll certainly get some practice in before doing the Mustang.

Get some Raxiom Smoked Tail Lights to compliment that CDC Decklid panel. Makes a HUGE difference and really completes the look back there.

BTW - even after supercharging, I still have the mod bug like crazy. I don't think you ever get over it.

Just be careful.
I have been told of people practicing and still doing it on their Mustangs lol.
Don't want that to happen to you.

That's why I just take my time and do everything by hand.

+1, my arms feel like they're about to fall off afterwards but it's worth it for scardy cats like me lol. I just don't have it in me to take any power tools to my paint, scares the crap out of me.
