Default 3 Car Covers!

Well as I write we have Hurricane Irene on us. My garage is full and my poor Mustang has to sit outside. So, I decided to put all 3 car covers on! Two have strings that tie under the car and the last one has a string and buckles front and back. I parked it in front of our garage door with my big box truck on one side close and my conversion van on the other side. My husband parked his van sideways behind it. So far the covers are still on! I know the worst is yet to come my way but I am hoping they stay put.
I know they will not keep my car from getting wet, but at least keep the debris off.

Nothing to worry about, I'm down in Nags Head, I pulled mine out to the edge of the driveway, I have like 2 pine needles on it and thats it.

Yeah im not gonna worry aout it to much. I'm in upstate NY, everybody else is freaking out. I really dont think it's gonna be bad just a lot of rain, my car is in the wide open and i'm not worried at all. Seeing that it is now a category 1 storm, if it was still a category 3 storm then i would be worried.

Best of luck to you 07 Stang, sounds like between the vehicles around it and the 3 covers its about as safe as you can make it (outside).

Let us know how it comes out.

Sandy, my wife and I were just talking about you and your Mustang today. Both of you are in our prayers.

Thanks Barry, we are hanging on literally! The eye of the storm is just 25 miles east of us! Wind is howling outside as the rain is blowing sideways. We have been fortunate that we only lost power for a few seconds. Thousands in the area are and have been without power. This is a concern for me as we have an inground pool. I turned the pump to "waste" and flipped the switch off in the house. I have been watching the pool level from my window with binoculars all day. So far I have had to drain it some 5 times and I am about to do it again.

So did the car survive? All of the stuff you did to keep debris off, only to find a tree managed to wedge itself into your windshield.

We survived! I was so happy to find all car covers still intact. I rolled them up one by one until I got to my car...it was not harmed in any way....not one leaf, debris or anything. I took a Microfiber cloth and wiped it down and it looks like new again. I definitely need to get another garage to store my stuff so my car can claim the garage.
