Better add:

Replacement engine(s)

with that part of your combination. Everyone who has tried dual power adders, even with a built engine, has blown up. The 4.0 can't handle it - it will run and can be tuned, but only for awhile.

There is someone with a Ranger with an Xcharger and a small nitrous shot who is said to have not blown up, but I don't have any details on his set up or if he is still running it. Everyone else has blown up after a couple of passes.

hMM...but if I replace the engine, the tuner and CAI will basically be worthless and i'll have to buy another one. so if I took out the charger...what could I buy to add RWHP

Stay with the supercharger and dump the nos, it's power ALL the time. And you need to get something bigger than 17's if your going aftermarket wheels.

If you go FI your CAI and tune will be worthless too. FI cars need a solid dyno tune to be good, the canned ones wont really cut it.

Go with a supercharger and thats it. Nos will blow you up, and isnt a always kind of mod for street driving. Also, ive heard prochargers are more prone to failure than vortechs... but then again if it was me id be looking at an X

Yep, I would be looking more into the realm of Vortech or an X-Charger. I'm sure owners of them will chime in shortly.

Yes, Vortech or X, don't bother with NOS, and stick with 18 inch rims. If you are going for 1/4 mile times, go ahead and stagger with 18x9 up front and 18x10 out back. If you are doing road courses or just street driving you probably want to stick with 18x9s all around to make tires easier and keep your handling good.

Hmm, apparently you didn't understand -- if you go with nitrous (NOS is a trade name by the way guys, despite the "fast and furious" use of it to mean nitrous)

AND

you run it with a supercharger

You better have a supply of spare engines because you WILL be blowing up with the dual power adders and replacing the engine regularly.

Nitrous itself is not dangerous. Many of us, including me, ran with it without any issues. Nitrous on its own isn't even flammable and doesn't burst into a ball of flames or cause things to blur like the "fast and furious"

But the supercharger is much better in the long run. It is power whenever you need it and you never have to fill the bottle (at $4 a pound).

I love my Xcharger Xtreme. Instant power and torque with just a quick push on the accelerator. Easy to self install and maintain.

Supercharger/turbo + nitrous = BOOM and spilled oil and parts from your engine

Don't forget the 8.8 rear end because with out it your not going to make it too far. The 7.5 cannot withstand fi or nos abuse. What about a chin spoiler. Some side louvers and 1/4 panel louvers a cervini spoiler, some side skirts and some interior design like a touch navradio leather seats etc
