Did you clean your air filter? If so how much oil did you add? Also Check your connection on the MAF.

+1. Check your connector into the maf sensor. It's probably loose.
Also, post of some pics of your install. Check your hoses and such, too.

How do I post pictures in a thread?
I took apart my cai and the inside was COATED in filter oil. I sea foamed the hell out of it wiped it down thoroughly, washed the filter ( which turned a pinkish color) re oiled it lightly and started it for about 15 minutes then using my sct checked dtc's and came out clear.
Isn't my jlt supposed to whistle? Because mine hasn't ever whistled

my jlt doesnt wistle. the cai was coated in oil? or the throttle body. ive had a catch can for quite a while, never had any issues though. sounds like you might be ok now.

Yes the filter was drenche in filter oil. I ha some extra time today so I took the throttle body off just to see how much oil was in the intake and there is a tube just inside the intake that was extremely coated in burnt oil residue along with the throttle body itself. I couldn't get a picture to turn out from inside the intake but I will once I get a better flash.

Unless your 4.0 is different from mine, you won't catch any oil on the driver side. Put the catch can on the passenger side where the PCV valve is.

Edit: I have two filters that I can interchange. This allows ample time for me to clean and oil the filter and let it air out. I don't feel comfortable putting on a freshly oiled filter.

Use only approved cleaners on the MAF.
CRC has a good MAF cleaner in a spray can.

On the 4.0 the catch can goes on the passenger side, like kzonts said. The 4.6 it goes on the driver side.

Also, that light weight blue hose from your catch can -- replace it with a PCV hose. That thing will collapse in on itself choking the flow off.
